NYC Sports is looking for experienced Basketball Referee officials who can manage recreational indoor league games according to official rules and regulations. The referee is expected to cooperate with on-site staff, including game statisticians and league officials, to develop a positive self-image with the players and provide a stable role model for all participants.

Candidates must also possess a full knowledge of the game of basketball’s rules and regulations; enforce all rules; ability to identify and examine sports equipment for compliance and safety adherence; must be confident and have good communication and interpersonal skills. Punctuality is strongly enforced and a key part of success to this role.

An ideal candidate should possess former basketball related knowledge, such as coaching or former athlete. High energy, fun, and reliability is a must to officiate our basketball games. All games will take place and vary from Monday – Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings to afternoon. Candidates must be in uniform with a working whistle at all times during assignments. This position will be mainly overseeing the Adult League recreational games, but not limited to youth programming. This is a part-time position which gives flexibility to a path towards full-time hours depending on availability.
