Why auto-renew was introduced?

In an effort to reward past league members and streamline the registration process, NYC Basketball offers effortless registration for every upcoming season. Returning teams are automatically enrolled in auto-renew. Teams that do not opt out before the auto renewal date (11/22/19) are automatically registered with their preferences from the prior season. These teams receive a returning team discount and returning team priority for scheduling purposes.

Are my teammates sent an invitation on the auto-renewal date?

No. After your team's registration renews on (11/22/19) you are able to invite your teammates from the roster page by clicking the send invites button on the page.

Do I have to auto-renew or can I opt-out?

Auto-renewal is not mandatory. You can opt out of auto-renew at any time on your team settings page. You can get to your team settings page by clicking edit settings on your roster page. To opt-out, go to your team settings page and uncheck the upcoming season. To completely turn off the auto-renewal, uncheck every season.

Can I opt out of the fall season but remain in the system as a returning team subscribed for the winter season?

Yes you can. If you do this you will still remain in the system as a returning team and you will be entitled to the returning team price and returning team scheduling priority for the winter season. If you have any questions about this or anything else, we recommend you contact the league.

What happens if my team has yet to pay the full fee by the returning team payment deadline?

If the entire invoice is not paid by the returning team payment deadline (12/6/19) then the team will be removed from the system and will have to manually register as a new team.

I forgot and missed the deadline to opt-out, now what?

NYC Basketball will be sending out multiple notifications before the auto-renewal deadline to make sure this doesn’t happen. But if you do, don’t worry, just reach out to us and we will fix the problem. This is about making registration as easily as possible so all you have to worry about is your jumper.



Scenarios for auto-renew payments

1. I paid the full team fee by credit card last season, now what?

Your team will automatically be registered for the next season on the auto-renewal date (11/22/19) Yep, it’s that simple.

2. What if my team splits their fees and everyone paid their share with a credit card?

Your team will automatically be registered for the next season on the auto-renewal date (11/22/19) and your team captain will be charged his portion of the team fee. The remainder of the team will have until the returning team payment deadline (12/6/19) to submit the rest of their team fees.

3. I paid by check last season and have a credit card on file, now what?

Your team will be automatically registered for the next season and the captain of your team will be charged a non-refundable deposit of $100 on the auto-renewal date (11/22/19). Then the team captain will be sent an invoice for the remainder of the team fee, which is due by the returning team payment deadline (12/6/19).

4. I paid by check last season but have no credit card on file, now what?

Your team will be automatically registered for the next season on the auto-renewal date (11/22/19) and an invoice will then be sent for the entire amount. The remainder will be due by the returning team payment deadline (12/6/19).
