School Day Program and Basketball Pods Details.

Typical Day:

9am- 1030 AM - Group Study Time with Tutor with 1 on 1 breakouts 
1030 AM- 1130 AM- Basketball Instruction
1130 AM- 1230 PM- Group Study Time with Tutor
1230 PM- 1 PM- Lunch 
1 PM- 215 PM - Group Study Time with Tutor with 1 on 1 break outs
215 PM- 330 PM- Basketball Instruction w Safe Constructive Non- Contact Games 

Group Study Time:

Group Study Time will be overseen by a head coach and a dedicated academic tutor. Each group will have a maximum of 10 students and 2 staff members. There will be an emphasis on commenting w families to understand your child and his or her academic background and priorities. We will use this information to form groups and to ensure that all staff members always make the most of group study time. 
 

Basketball Instruction:

There will be a focus on having an enriching , positive environment for students that they look forward to coming to each day. While our first priority will be to excel in study time to ensure students maintain their school work we will also be focused on providing an amazing basketball experience where student athletes can have fun and improve their game every week. 
 

Tutors and Coaches:

Tutors: All tutors have been handpicked based off an extensive amount of experience and are extremely selective interview process. They have also been carefully screened for the right personality and demeanor to work with student athletes. Most of them were succesful student athletes themselves who are particularly passionate about working with student athletes. 
 
Coaches: All of our coaches assigned to this program have experience working at schools. While they may often be a gym teacher or an administrator they have experience managing a classroom. They are all expected to assist the groups tutor in their group during study hours while ensuring we have a enriching, productive environment for students where they are fully supported in completing and excelling at their school responsibilities.  
 

Covid Safety:

  • Social distancing and hygiene protocols will be in place to ensure your kids' safety. 

  • All our programs require all employees and customers to wear masks if in frequent contact with others.

  • We implement strict cleaning and sanitation standards.

  • We have health screening process for individuals entering.

 

Flexibility for Parents:

- We offer transportation from all 5 boroughs
- We offer late pick up and early drop off with enriching after school programs available

Classes will all be led by our incredible coaches, many of whom we're coaches at our NBA summer camps held at John Jay College all summer. Weekly classes will focus on fundamental instruction focused on shooting, dribbling, passing, footwork, and defence. All of our programs are designed to make sure your child improves as much as possible, learns something every day, and has as much fun as possible. The Town School gym is newly redone and its a beautiful set up. 

 

We offer our classes and leagues year round and feature appearances from various NBA players for many unforgettable experiences to be had by your kids. Our philosophy with these programs is to give kids an unforgettable experience that reinforces the best lessons they learn through camps, classes, and year-round training.

Our Sunday league is one of our most popular offerings. The first two weeks will consist of evaluation and player placement and then each week teams will practice with their coach and then play a game. While games will be competitve and fun there will also be a focus on developing skills, sportsmanship, and team work. All teams will be led by one of our amazing coaches which will help to make this a competitive league experience that is also focused on fundamental improvement and player development. If your child is interested in playing competitively in a developmentally appropriate environment this is the program for you.

NYC Basketball Gift Cards

With NYC Basketball Gift Cards, you can give them either full credits for any program, or a big push towards getting their next NYC Basketball registration to one or more of NYC’s best Basketball Programs. The person receiving the gift card will be able to choose to spend it in any of our NYC Basketball Kids Programs available until December 31st, 2019.*

 

Types of Gift Cards

All NYC Basketball Gift Cards are for a specific US dollar amount to be used by December 31st, 2019. The person redeeming the gift card, must be registered on our NYC Basketball Kids Website as it is under his/her account that credits will be added for the gift card’s full amount. Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q: How do I purchase a gift card?

A: Like with any of our programs, just follow the Registration Page, select your program and add to cart, and when you are ready, go to Complete Registration to make payment. Gift cards are only acceptable by making payment with Credit Cards. No discount or purchased credits are valid for buying gift cards.

 

Q: How does the gifted person redeem the gift card?

A: To redeem the Gift Card, all that is needed is to sign up at NYC Basketball Kids Website (if you haven’t done so) and send an email to help@nycsportsleagues.com confirming email and name of person who purchased the Gift Card, and your email and name. Full credit will be added to your NYC Basketball Account to start using it right away. Afterwards you can register to any of the Kids programs and just pay for them with the available credits.

 

Q: How do I complete registration after redeeming a gift card?

A: For any of our programs, you can follow the Registration Page, select your program and add to cart, and when you are ready, go to Complete Registration to make payment. Before confirming payment, you will be allowed to say how much you want to pay in credits and how much on your credit card. If no credits are available, the only option offered will be the credit card. If the purchase price is higher than the remaining credits left, you may pay the balance left with credit card. Registration is only complete once payment has been submitted.

 

Q: Are there any Payment Plans Available?

A: While not all of our programs have payment plans, some do. Please contact us at 212 390 1776 for more information.

 

Q: What are flexible lessons and how do I use them?

A: Flexible group lessons work with lesson credits that you can use to book small group lessons (max 7 kids per group) anytime in the next 12 months. Flex Lessons Credits start with 6-Lessons Packages, and the more Lessons you buy, the cheaper the credits become. After purchasing a credit package you will receive more info and a link to book your first lesson.

 

Q: What is the Difference between Weekly Classes and Flex Lessons?

A: Flex Lessons are based on credits. Credits last 1 year since the moment you purchase them, and can be used towards any Flex Lesson available. Weekly Lessons are specific packages that open up each season for a specific amount of classes. Under weekly lessons you may find Weekly Monday Classes in the UES, for example. Weekly classe are meant for those that will consistently be attending the same day, time and location during the term, while Flex lessons are for those that need a flexible schedule.

 

Q: I saw a discount and now it is not there. Do I still get the discounted price?

A: Deals, promotions and discounts are only for the time they are available at registration. To take the most of our offers, make sure to book at the time you see them, as they may not last long if spots are taken.

 

Q: Are there any sibling discounts, or referral discounts?

A: Yes, we do offer great deals for siblings and group registrations. Call us at 212 390 1776 for more details.

 

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: Deposits to hold a discounted deal, or a limited spot are not refundable. Gift Cards are not refundable. Cancellation within 72 hours of purchase will result in a full refund, as long as the refund is requested at least 48 hours in advance of the start of the purchased program. Tickets and some specific events are non-refundable. Please refer to the Refund Policy for more details.

Lance is a New York native who played his high school basketball in New Jersey and he won a national championship under Coach K at Duke University! Upper West Side Kids Baskeball Programs

The Upper West Side is really the central location for much of NYC Basketball Kids Program. Eleven 1 week day camps are held each summer at John Jay College on 59th and 10th. These camps are open to boys and girls of all skill levels ages 5-17. You can see a full camp schedule here.

Throughout the year we also offer multiple 1 day clinics featuring local NBA players or NBA stars from teams outside the city. Our philosophy with these programs is to give kids an unforgettable experience that reinforces the best lessons they learn through camps, classes, and year round training.

Beyond camps and clinics we offer instructional classes and lessons that are convenient for Upper West Side Residents on a year round basis. We also offer flexible options for private lessons that can be held anywhere on the Upper West Side. Among other locations in the neighborhood, NYC Basketball regularly uses Trevor Day School on 88th and Central Park West.

NYC Basketball Kids is very excited to announce the first annual C.J. McCollum Camp! C.J. McCollum was drafted 10th overall by The Portland Trail Blazers in the 2013 NBA Draft. Since taking over as starting shooting guard this season, C.J. has excelled and averaged 20.9 points, 4.2 assists, & 3.4 rebounds per game. Now he wants YOU to come to his summer camp on August 8th-12th to learn what it takes to be a NBA player! With C.J.’s help, our top-notch coaching staff with work with all campers to raise their game to the next level.
